User research

Understanding the needs, preferences, and behaviours of the council officers and citizens using our products is essential to developing digital planning services that address genuine user needs.

What is user research

User research is about gathering and analysing information from user behaviours, needs, preferences, and pain points. This information is fed into our designs and development to improve our products.

User research in our products

User research is at the heart of our product development. To build the right solutions, we actively engage with the people who use our products, asking critical questions that help us understand what works and what doesn’t.

Our community plays a vital role in this process. We invite members to participate in interviews and workshops, guided by what we want to achieve, to gather insights that drive product improvements.

These sessions provide valuable insights into user workflows, revealing key areas for improvement. This collaborative approach ensures that our products evolve and effectively serve everyone using them.
